Default Apparently I can't quit...

So its nearing 2 weeks since I quit my job with Comcast. I call the brokers that manage my 401k and stock to rollover and withdraw. And guess what?

They show I'm still employed. So I call HR. Same story. Still employed, no paperwork has processed. It's part of the reason I quit. Our office is ignored by the company because they're union. And so long as I'm still employed, the company continuesto earn interest off the monies they're holding.

Like my 401k and employee stock purchase contributions. I've reminded HR strongly that
  1. As my medical benefits have already ended, so has my participation in the 401k and stock
  2. Having found employment already, the company cannot intimidate me (not that it ever could)
  3. I have verifiable evidence of bias against tthe only union shop in Philadelphia
  4. My lawyers aren't scared of their lawyers

That's just awesome right there. Good luck with this, sounds like a terrible company to work for.

Sad part is it had to come to that. My actual words were "speaking informally with my legal representative, I was informed his firm would glady take a case with an almost guaranteed return on damages, fees and publicity".

HR called about a hour ago to tell me my resignation would be processed in 24-48 hrs and the brokerage would be informed expediantly.

Yeah. Funny too since VZ has processed my paperwork, completed the background check and called to tell me "just be on time on the 12th".

Of course I'm gonna aim for "early enough to hit a Dunkin Donuts"

Heard from a co-worker today. I use the present tense as he also accepted offer from Verizon, is leaving Comcast and will be based in the same office as me.

They allegedly owe him 2k in backpay from the last contract agreement (jan / feb), has been promised repeatedly from Upper upper management to have it resolved and was finally fed up. Getting offer 2x his current salary didn't hurt either...
