Any musicians/ instrument builders here?
quite an impressive collection there, zaqwert, U pro or just collect them? Play in a band? Are they custom made for you or have you made them yourself? Gonna look better at them when I get to my computer, on this phone the pics are bout the same size as my thumb nail (hence the name?

)Little of all of the above I guess.
Started playing around 10 years old. There have been times where it was my sole income but not currently. Been in more bands than I can recall, never made the big time but was close enough to see it from where I was a time or 2.
Right now working on a little all original project, all casual though. Occasionally fill in for a few local bands when they need it. I have 2 peices I built from scratch, years ago, (not pictured). Most everything I have today was custom built for me at some point. I don't know how many guitars I've own total over the last 30 something years but most everything I still have is for a reason. Creme of the crop kinda thing.
There are in the neighborhood of 20 guitars which include a couple acoustics and 2 classicals. And I have 2 banjos I started messing around with years ago when my (ex) wife wanted to learn. And my violin which I've had since I was a kid.
If I get the gumsion to pull more out , I'll get some more pics. I had numourous pics of everything at one time but much of it was hosted online and lost during a server crash. Not much saved currently on any of the PCs in the house beyond the little I posted already.
Exeptionally warm fall after an exeptionally crappy summer has kept me pretty much solely on or around two wheels and the guitar project has been on hold for a while, but I`ve managed to make some progress there too:

Neck. Was a bit of a battle to get the arc formed by the darker woods to align straight and in the middle of the headstock, and I actually managed to carve too deep while doing it so the neck thins a bit too much when approaching the end but I guess on this kind of project it`s not that serious...

The other end. Went out of mahogany and had to buy more, only the plank I got has slightly different color than the neck so there`s a noticeable seam between the neck and the anchor part.

Figuring out where everything goes. Had to design a pickguard from scratch cause the Explorer doesn`t originally have one. This is going to serve two purposes cause I didn`t want visible holes in the sound box so the pickguard is going to be lifted up some so the sound can get out from under it.

Hole for the battery housing. Another hole for the jack is going to find it`s place from under it as soon as I find the jack, cannot remember where I put the bugger...
The sound box will have a birch veneer with red stain and black binding stripes on it. Eventually...
