Another rider down.
The first nice day of the year (13Mar07) in Essex Cty, Ontario Canada and all the bikes were outfor a ride. Well it didn't take long for some idiot to run into the rear of a fellow biker. He was sent to the hospital with minor injuires. Thank god he was wearing full riding gear. With the nice weath I too have been out a lot, but always in full gear. I don't care how hot it gets, I love riding but I want to make it home in one piece.
As for the young chap that died. At least the roads will be less congested where he is going. RIP.

That is always sad to hear. The said thing is that it looks like a Honda.

Had one here on saturday afternoon, Gixxer going 80 in a 45, SUV pulled out in front of him...no helmet. 20 year old kid. very sad.
No booze involved, just a fast moving small object that an inattentive driver didn't see.

I am a brand new rider, never ridin a bike b4 my f4i..long rant short, as far as i can see a lot of bike accidents are because of stupid mistakes by the rider...if he wasnt going 80 he would have maybe been able to dodge the cager. What is sad is how people aren't safe in their riding habits.
yea here in sac i can recall atleast 4 killed riders in about the past month and a 1/2. its really sad and most of the time its preventable. if i hear about a bike going down and killed i always call my brothers 1st and make sure its not them! i guess being a big brother will do that to ya.

Well, if anything good can come of these accidents (and you posting them)it's that newer riders such as me can get real info from actual riders about these wrecks. So many times you read it in the paper, and for some reason it just doesn’t hit home like it does when I read it from fellow riders. By having the image of fallen riders, helmet less in sandals, burned into my head- it has transformed me from a "care-free"(careless) rider, into one who grows more and more concerned for my own safety every ride.
My heart goes out to the family of that soldier, and all others like him. I hope my family never has to go through that.
