Yup , that ain't hard to do ... I have run out of fuel a couple of times over the years and learned that lesson the hard way by pushing heavy arsed bikes till I near dropped ...
On the CBR though I use a new added rule of thumb ... I gas up before hitting reserve nearly all the time ..

Actually given the current snarky nature of my bike, I'm seriously eyeballing AAA membership. Depending on the distance to the next pump, I might just say **** it and wait if it happens again
