Sure..about a week left till the surgery..and i just got done watching a program about people who are awake during the surgery but paralyzed from the paralytic drug in the anesthesia..i hate when people put stuff like this out..and i just have to keep watching it..and that damn "awake" movie..isnt putting my mind to much rest either..and i know the odds are only like 40,000 out of 21 million..but still makes you think..what if? i know im crazy for thinking this..but its just got me so worked up right now..anyone ever heard of this happening to someone close or have it happen to you..thanks for the help..

I have had major surgery more times probably than anybody else here. And I have never met anyone who has suffered this condition. Just relax You're going to be just fine you're truly not helping yourself by getting all worked up. hell you more likely to get killed in a car crash on the way to or from the hospital. Then this happening,check the odds and put it in perspective

 

i know thats like 1 in 21000 people..and ive had alot of surgerys to and never met this problem...lately it has just been keeping me up at night..bothering me more and more as im getting closer to the surgery..this is just the longest one i will have ever gone through (5 hours i think) and that just seems long..even though it will seem like seconds to me.

 

I Have had 14 hours of brain surgery less than six months ago and been under the knife about three times prior to that. It's going to be okay man just do some positive thinking. The power of the mind is a Mother ****er use it to your advantage

 

Viewing shows like that is a bit like screening Airline disasters while your waiting to board your flight. Everyone gets a bit antsy when it comes to going under the knife, I'm particularly fond of the Pre-med myself, (yeah I know, but there is no law that says you can't enjoy it)
You will be fine.

 

bleh and i threw up when I went to the dentest and got gased, taht sucks man best of luck

No worries JD, if you stressed about every little thing in life that COULD happen, you'de be locked up in a room with nice soft walls and a niffty little jacket that made you hug yourself... but then again, you'de probably need a hug, so it would all work out for the best
