Well guys if all goes well,I might be in Alaskafor a coupleof years.
After much thought on were I wanted to move this seemed to be the best fit, plus I look like a burnt eskimo.
I'm waiting to hear back from a company over that way and if everything goes well in the phone conversations, I will be out there for the ride alongs to see ifI want to go for it or not. Emails sound like they want me to make the move.
I was just wondering if anyone has been to Alaska for vacation and what they thought about it?
Yes I have seen 30 days of night, But I will be in Anchorage.

 

well bro atleast you will be on the west coast and your closer to cali so you can come down and ride . what factors did you use in determining alaska as the best possible place to live ?

 

I have been in Anchorage for over 2 years, and have 1 1/2 left. It is beautiful however you better enjoy the cold or you will not like it at all. It is cold from late September/early October until early to mid April. Riding wise it is really only 6 months if you are able to push it. Other than that it is great! Summers are mostly nice, mild temp in the 60's. And you never get used to the 20 hours of sunlight, your body has trouble wanting to go to sleep. And than during the winter there is about 6-7 hours of daylight, I would say from about 9-9:30 until almost 5 it is light outside.

If you hunt or fish this is the place. You also have so many trails to go 4-wheeling it is incredible. Ask me questions if you want more info.

Anchorage is awesome,
You will love the summer time to ride in. The day never ends. Winter is alright you will get a snowmobile and have fun. Hit up chillkoot Charlies - its a nice bar/club
and of cours staright out of philly makes some good subs. Have fun fishing for me. Wish I could get back up there, but for now Florida will do me just fine.

 

got some good friends that moved up there from high school and never came back.. lol.. better like the cold, it is beautiful up there though..

PS i thought i liked the cold and the winter here in NY has been wearing me thin...

Factors, There were no factors. Just seemed to catch my attention and have not seen past it yet, Every where else i looked the cost of living was to high for a single good looking male. Everyone I talked to knows someone out therebut have never been, plus for the most part it pretty much the same as minnesota imo.
