Not graphic but not....not graphic.

Somehow I don't think saying "Thank you for serving" is even close to getting it done.

holy **** man.... i'm glad he made it out, but damn that must be scary. i could see where the bullets were hitting right by his feet (smoke from the rocks while he was running) - but i really couldn't tell even close to what direction they were coming from.

that is scary.

He gets shot 4 times during that and has to crawl out of there by himself.

Amazing story.

Special forces. A different breed. As a soldier, those guys still amaze me.

Was he out there completely by himself? Or did they just not risk going to get him because he was pinned down?

Crazy videos like this remind me how much a !@#$% I am and could never join the military.

I watched the video, and read the descriptions.

And I have one serious question.

Why would he leave the high ground defensive position in favor of an exposed hillside?

Isnt that infantry 101?

Naw, thats a bad day if you ever end up alone in a combat zone. Squad was apparently pinned down, he sacrificed himself to draw fire away. People think "hes trying to be a hero, bla bla bla". A real soldier will sacrifice his own life to save lives, its not about reward.

Now I definitely dont like to question someone's decisions in combat, but I think this was either the dumbest thing he could have done or a story made up after the fact to reduce embarrassment. Running around in the open, under fire, by yourself, surely is not a sanctioned infantry maneuver, lol.
