Exclamation 600rr to 1000rr...??

hey guys...i have had my 03 600rr for a while now and am vey confident. I have ridden dirtbikes my entire life b4 hittin the street and i have no doubts on my 600rr cuz i really adapted to it well. I am a physically bigger guy than most people and i think i want a litttle bit more low-end power. I have been thinking about going to the 1000rr but idk yet. I mean it will be more comefortable for me and i like the low-end power they have. I am not the type of person that wants to go 120mph on the highway but i just wanna have fun with it and respect every one of those 1000cc's. Can anyone give me advice as to when would be the right time to make the switch and what it is like compared to the 600rr. thanks to all

I would say to just do it. As long as you are not over confident. That's when you don't respect the bike and it's power. That's when bad things happen. If you just want to go out cruising and not 120mph, then I would say do it. Doesn't matter if you start off on a 600 or a 1400, it's all about respecting the machine and wrist control.

I agree with ^^^
Don't try and convice people here you're *ready* to upgrade bikes, all you'll get is: "You're a squid, 600's are more bike then you'll ever be!", "You're a squid, you should upgrade to a 250!", or "You're a squid, you should go get a Schwinn, maybe you can handle all 10 gears!"

In all honesty, if you respect the bike and take the time to get used to the extra power/feel of the bike, you'll be fine. You should go test ride a few and make sure that's the route you want to take (instead of upgrading your 600 for a little more 'oomph). have you considered switching your sprockets to a -1 +2 setup (or something similiar)? People on here love it and it really helps low end. That would save you quite a bit of money compared to switching bikes...

if you dont do freeway riding like you said you dont there is zero difference between your 600RR and the 1000RR in lower gears / speeds. I mean yeah.. theres a small difference but nothing worth buying a new bike over. I would stay where you are if thats the reason your upgrading.

I thought the 1000 vs 600 would be a world of difference but they are very close to each other (at least how I drive). The 1000 doesn't bog down like the 600 did but it weighs more which you do feel when your in the twisties.

There are guys out there bigger than you on smaller bikes having more fun than you so displacement and size is a moot point. Take your bike to the track where you can really learn how far you can push it.
