Default 600RR to 1000RR

Just wondering how many of you want to switch up to a 1000 or have from the 600. I have been riding my 600 for about 3 months and i am kinda wanting a 1000. I am trying to talk myself out of this. Maybe you all can help. I know if i did this i would loose alot of money. So please let me know what you all think. THanks

I have an 02 F4i and 03 600RR and don't even want a 1000, the 600s are so much more fun. Its nice to have that kind of power but you can get that acceleration out of your 600 with some new sprockets so whats the point unless you want to do 180 mph???

I personally love the higher revving 600's. I have ridden my buddies r1 and i like mine better for that aspect.

After only 3 months of riding, that's a hugely bad idea. It'll have so much more power that you won't be able to keep the wheel on the ground. Todays 600's are awesome. A liter bike is for advanced riders period.

if your thinking about switvhing up stop u think its just a bigger engine and the only difference is more power at the throttle and your right but its too much for u to handle try switching after a year or more

plus 600's are better handling in turns then 1000's (lighter bike)... but i thought the same thing though... maybe find a friend to test out his/her 1,000 - but 600's are awesome bikes

The thing is though, if i switch in a year why not now, when my bike is worth more, and if i keep my bike for another year im gunna be putting more money into it. (i know just dont do it, but i love working on and modifying and upgrading it).

To each his own but I can't see how you are wanting a 1000rr 3 months after getting your 600. I bought my 600rr in February and even though I feel MUCH more comfortable and confident on it now than on the first ride I honestly cannot say that I'm even close to reaching its potential. I have a little more than 1 inch of untouched tread on either side of my rear tire but I still think its going to be awhile before I will need to move up to a litre-bike. Not speaking from personal experience, but from what I've read here, the chances of losing traction on turns while on a 1000r are much higher. Maybe you want to do fewer gear changes or what the higher top speed (both of which are cool) but remember that your chances of getting yourself in trouble increase proportional to the increase in power. I know I would. How many people can actually say that they've wanted more power than what the 600rr offers, upgrade to a 1000rr, then never use it? If you do decide to go with a 1000rr please give it even more respect than your 600 when you first bought it.

The only real question to ask is: Are you a truly advanced rider with much track / road experience & training to reach your & your bikes potential? If the answer is YES -- then go for a 1000. If it is NO -- then you've got the right bike.

Also remember, depending on your age and record you may be looking at putting more money into insurance for the 1000 than into any mods. Keep that in mind, I know a couple guys that have decided against 1000's just because insurance is so rediculous.
