am I the only one that didn't know the 599 is made in Italy???
thats crazy, guess thats part of why its so expensive for just an upgraded F3 with no fairings

i didn't know it was made in italy. but a few comments about the 599. i really like the concept. take a sportbike chassis and engine, strip it of it's plastic, and install some bars for a more upright (read: comfortable) riding position. what i don't understand is the logic that honda uses. the 599 and 919 are based upon many generations past technology retrofitted with fuel injection. there is nothing wrong with this, but i would love to see stripped down versions of the 600rr and 1000rr. as much as it pains me to say it, yamaha got it right. just check out the fz1 and fz6. those are badass bikes.
by the way, i am HIGHLY considering the purchase of a street oriented sportbike with an upright riding position. the 929 is a great bike and an awesome track weapon but i'm starting to think something like the above mentioned bikes would be a better everyday commuter bike. damn, i must be getting old!
