Default 1st time

Hey all. I am new to riding (about 4 months) and went on my first ride of any length. We started in Calhoun, GA and rode to FT. Payne, AL. Total round trip was about 180 miles. I had a blast! I can't wait to start taking longer trips. The only thing was my throttle hand kept cramping up.

they do have these things that you can put on your grips to control the throttle for trips like that, takes the pressre off your hands. other than that, great! some people dont like riding very long on sportbikes, but i cant ever seem to get off of mine.

yeah it was mainly in the mountains so you can imagine that we had fun. I am just gradually working at picking up a little more speed in the twisties and eliminating target fixation.

this is what I do when my hand starts to cramp... just let go of the throttle with all 4 fingers (lay them on top of the front brake) and hold the throttle in position with just your thumb. The blood will rush back into your hand and you can hold it there for a long time without your thumb hurting. No cramps and its very comfortable. Just something I do on long trips when my hand starts hurting....and its free
