Default Whats up guys/gals

Hey everyone. Just got my first bike about a month ago. Just bought a Black 2006 Honda CBR 600RR. Thought this would be a great place to learn more about my bike and best ways to upgrade/customize. Almost cried when I dropped it like 3 days after buying it but thankfully the fact that its all black makes it almost impossible to see the scratchs. Anyone have any suggestions on the first changes i should make? Was thinking of getting rid of that ugly plastic license plate mount and rear turn signals. Possibly exhaust... what do you guys think?

Fender elimination is a good start for modding. Don't fret over the drop, but that's a heck of a first bike you've got there! Were you moving when it went down? I hope you're OK!

Actually was going around a curve in the street heading into my neighborhood....doing about 25ish when the car in the oncoming lane decided to take his turn wide bc he was going to fast and took up most of my lane...me being not so comfortable on my bike just yet went right off the side of the road. Needless to say the next day i went and got all the protective gear....only ended up with some road rash on my arms and cuts...would have been scott free if i had gloves and jacket. Lesson learned =)

Get frame sliders.

Enjoy your bike for a while before you start spending money on changes.

Listen to a bunch of exhausts before you change, you may decide you like the engine/trannys mechanical sounds more than a louder exhaust.

Glad to hear you didn't get hurt during your spill.

I picked up a Mesh Joe Rocket jacket and gloves....never ride w/o them now. Took alil bit to get used to the feel of the gloves. Now i dont like ridin w/o them. What other protective gear would i need other than jacket/gloves? Im not really doing anything crazy on my bike yet...hasnt even left 2 wheels yet. Trying to aviod more dings in my bike lol.

Haha not sure which one... either im blind or it just doesnt say any specifics on the jacket itself. It says the liner and outter part of the jacket are polyester. Should i have gotten a jacket made of something else for durability?

Check out the gear forum to find opinions and experiences from other riders. My understanding is that those JR mesh jobs don't stand up too well in a tough spill.
