I have a 1990 CBR600F(1), it has 110/80/17 on front and 140/80/17 on the back, I want to go 110/70/17 and 140/70/17 as they have better tyre options and get Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3's. I'm new to riding and have seen some forums say bias for this bike etc.. Does anyone have any info? Current tyres are battlax bt45 I believe...
Not sure man, I just started riding a few weeks ago. I have a 98 600 f3. I replaced the tires with a stock size. It rides great. Not sure about a lower profile than stock as far as bikes go. Hopefully someone here can help you soon.

Hi!!!
Have you test 110/70-17 finally!!!?????.
Whats your impression??.
This CBR has radial tyres when launched, and nowadays is impossible to find in the original size.
Most people mount bias tyres but this bikes deserves radial tyres...
Why people conforms with bias tyres when the bike was created to run radials????.
Is the 110/70-R17 the less bad option????

Nope, original '87-89 CBR600F had 17x2.5/3.5" wheels that are too narrow for radials. Original tyres were 110/80-17 and 130/80-17 bias-ply. Putting radials on narrow rims will result in worse handling than bias-ply tyres due to pinched sidewalls, pointy contact-patch and lots of unnecessary flexing. Running 110/70-17 & 140/70-17 bias-ply tires will be OK. If you want to use wider radial tyres, you'll need to install F2 wheels in 17x3.5/4.5" sizes.

Hi
first of all thanks for your quick reply due to old thread.
The 1989-1990 model has the nee Michelin a/m59 x radials tyres on the same bike rim than previous models
Every one says the huge improvement of this tire on this bike.
My question is I think this kind of sport bike deserves radials tires but by the moment not available on stock 110/80-17.
The main (and most important for me) is the front tire.
I'm ask you whats best option radial 110/70-radial17 or 110/80-17 bias....
knowing I prefer radial feeling than bias but knowing the height tire is different.
Note: some manufactures admit 2,5 minimum width for 110/70-zr17.
Yeah, you can squeeze radials onto narrow rims, but performance will be worse than bias. Worse than exact same radials on wider rims. It's not black-n-white, but shades of grey.
Those Roadsmarts are decent tyres. Personally I like Q3+ in those 110/140 sizes.

hi again
Many thanks for answering, then I must go to bias selection, waiting for some brand encourages to build Radials in Honda CBR 600f1,cbr1000F and VFR rc24...
I don't know why nobody is making this radial tyres when back in the day were the first bikes to suit them.
