Default Spring fever strikes again - Project F3

Hey kids! It's that time again, and guess who bought another bike? Ok, enough cutesy.

Project bike is a '96 F3. Former owner hopped a curb and laid it down. The resulting bike is now in my garage and the title is clean. Wife not too thrilled.

The good news is the frame is straight, and the tires are good. Front wheel needs straightening, needs a brake lever, some hardware carb cleaning, tank de-rusted. and a lot of style decisions.

Working on getting it running first.

Will post a pic once the mod upgrades my permission. Just imagine a dull orange sherbet colored tank, busted fairings and a D&D exhaust.

After cleaning the carbs and fuel tank I fired up the beast yesterday. Runs strong!

On the test drive found out the second gear dogs are baaaad. So next comes a transmission rebuild.

Hoping the mods approve soon so I can post a visual progress report.

Oh, yeah. Forgot to mention centered travel means the steer is about 3 degrees to the left. I found a good source of used parts and a track and frame guy if needed, here in Phoenix.

Hoping the mod will switch me on to post pics soon. Also have a vid of it running after two years of dormancy. Sounds sweet! But very ugly bike. In fact the key tag the dealer put on it calls it "beast".

More soon.
