hahaha you guys are funny. I TOLD you guys in a previous post that i am indeed a noob and that I'm sure in the furture i would be asking a few stupid questions. I honestly wasn't sure about the smell, if it's normal or if it's an issue with my bike. Thanks for being so understanding.

You will get the smell of exhaust on you but like was said if you wear gear you won't smell like it when you remove your jacket. And there is nothing wrong with your bike it from the under seat exhaust. Anyone who rides an RR smells like that whether they know it or not.

RE: Question for male & female riders (peeyew)
To help with emissions, california motorcycles have a "charcoal cannister" somewhere along the bottom side of the exhaust. not only does it help with emissions, it prevents you, your bike, your girlfriend, or whoever is around from smelling like gas. alot of the guys who are willing to deal with it cut the cannister off and weld a pipe straight through like the rest of the bikes the non californians get. im sure there is a way you can get a hold of one somehow, and just weld that on. it may reduce a bit of power, but i recently asked some people at a dealership how much power i would gain from cutting mine out, and they said the difference would be like "not eating that cheeseburger before you went on your ride." so im sure it would be well worth it for you if you dont want to be smelling like gas when you walk into work. if you have one already, then i think something might be wrong with your bike, because when it gets cold here, and i stop, i can warm my hands with my exhaust, and they don't smell like gas (mildly exagerated to prove a point, but mostly true). hope that helps more than calling you a panzy. peace.
