Default Price / exhaust servo

Just wondering if I got a good deal... I just picked up a 2000 929 , spotless condition no scratches, dents, etc..all stock.. it has 2300 miles and I got it for 4600. + I had to buy a battery... The second question is the previous owner took out the servo that opens the exhaust valves (causing the red f/i light on dash to stay on), stating that it creates better performance... just wondering if anyone has heard of this or might have input to if this is better for the bike or worse... thanks

seems like a pretty good price, esp. with that low of miles. As to the exhaust question, it depends. If you don't have a powercommander it's probably not a good idea to run it without the servo. The system is designed to create back pressure at low rpms to boost low end power. There is also a flapper valve in the air box that works in conjunction with the exhaust valve... There are some that think removing the servo will help increase the flow thru the pipe but it really should be left alone if you don't know what you are doing. Does it seem to run OK (at low rpms)? What about the flapper valve, is it still in?
