Default Parasitic Drain - OR NOT?

Hello everyone. It's my first post so be gentle!!!

My Bike is a UK Spec... 1999 CBR600Fx and I'm trying to determine if i have a Parasitic Drain or not.

I've done a load test on the Neg side of the Battery and it is telling me I have a 1.5mA Current Leak. Can anyone tell me if 1.5mA is normal?

The lovely people from Haynes Manuals state that the Current Leakage on the 600Fx should be a MAX of 0.1mA

They also state the Current Leakage on the F1/FS1 models can be a MAX of 2.0mA.

Can anyone tell me why there is such a difference between these 2 models? and if the Haynes Manual figure of 0.1mA is correct for my model - 1999 CBR600Fx?

Any help would be greatfully received. I have stripped EVERY SINGLE device and fuse off the bike in an attempt to find what is causing the 1.5mA drain and can find no reason for it.

Greetings & salutations!!

That seems very small leak of 1.5ma. Does dash have a clock?

Unplug red starter-solenoid connector from solenoid and re-test drain.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes..... 1.5mA seems like a small drain BUT it's approximately 15 times LARGER than the MAX Current Leakage stated in the good old Haynes Manual. (0.1mA)

Don't use Haynes manual, it has tonne of errors in it.
Only use factory service-manual.

Hi Dan. Would be great if you could pull out your Factory Service Manual and let me know the MAX Current Leak figure for my bike as I only have a Haynes Manual.

Sorry, appears I maligned Haynes prematurely when they correctly copied factory-manual for this spec.

1. unplug yellow-wires connector between stator and RR, does drain go away?

2. unplug red connector at starter-solenoid, does drain go away?

Is battery dying between rides due to this drain?

You're welcome!

I do wonder what in cluster was draining 1.5ma? Seems extremely small. We'll see how new one works.
