Okc rider just got my 1000RR 1 week ago
I just wanted to say hi to everyone and say I've had my 08 1000RR a week and have loved every minute of it. It's just a totally more adrenalin based ride than my HD I had for 5 years and corners like a formula 1.

Welcome to the forum!
The 1krr is a hella lot more bike than the harley! It's light, fast, and handles like a dream. But be careful, if your riding it like it's designed to be ridden it can get away from you quickly and easily. Great bike though....

Congrats on the new bike. You'll like owning the Honda! Keep the oil and coolant changed and the engines are pretty much bullet proof. Be careful tho like the 74 said it'll get out from under you if you're not careful. That thing is only 425 pounds and will do 80 in 2d gear. I'm still intimidated by my 954.
Yes, I definately give the machine full respect!! I recieved a service manual today on it and I'm fairly competent on cars and my ex HD, but this thing was written by a mad scientist!! I guess if your flying your own F16 you need to know how to work on the turbines.
Here is the factory tool set that came with your bike:
2008 Honda CBR1000RR Parts, 2008 Honda CBR1000RR OEM Parts - BikeBandit.com
You can find OEM parts for your bike on there. For some reason it didn't display the entire list for me? So here is my bikes tool set, shouldn't be much different? 2003 Honda CBR954RR Parts, 2003 Honda CBR954RR OEM Parts - BikeBandit.com
I just wrote down the tool sizes and threw them in a tool wrap purchased from Amazon. Putting it together yourself can cost your around 20-30 dollars over the $87 they want for the OEM.
Smart move on the owners manual by the way, between that and this site you should be able to save quit a bit of money at the dealer. Make sure you make good use of the Search feature, a lot of people start threads that have already been explained in great depth. Will save you time/headache.
