Default Newbie saying hello

Hi everyone, newbie to this forum and sportbikes. I have been riding dirt bikes for the past six years on Honda XR's and now I've decided to take the fun to the streets. Right now I'm taking motorcycle training to get my license and plan on getting a bike this fall. I want to get a CBR600 but I'm not sure If should get a F4i or a RR. The local Honda shop has a 2006 CBR600F4i for $8300 and a 2007 CBR600RR for $9000, both bikes are brand new. If I wanted a used bike what are some things I should pay attention to when going to look at the bike. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Welcome to the board! First, props for the motorcycle training. And for advice ... don't forget the gear when calculating the price.

Now to the question, both prices seem kind of steep to me. 06 F4i that's brand new should go for $6500 ... 07 RR $7500. Since the bikes are 2 going on 3 model years old they might deal with you ... but ya gotta be made of stone

Used bike ... first thing I want to see is maintenance records. Check that the bike is stone cold when they crank it ... let it warm up, cut it off and crank it again. Bring a trusted friend with you who can be objective.

Good luck!

I don't know much about the pricing lately. but I totally agree that you should get someone who has experience with you.

Welcome to the forum!

Ya I will definatly be getting riding gear. These prices are a little high because I'm in Canada, even though our dollar is close to par with the us we always pay more for stuff. But I will try to get them to move down in price. I was wondering which model would be better for me to get, the F4i or the RR.
