Just got my first Honda - 1987 CBR1000f, having had Yamaha YAS1, Kawasaki EN500, Triumph Trophy 900 in the past. Currently have a stablemate BMW R1100RT in the garage alongside the latest aquisition. Over the years my wife always told anyone who asked that I had a Honda, well for the first time in 30years she's right. (don't tell her I said that)
I was told that the colour scheme is original which I doubted until I saw a fairing panel for sale on ebay in the same colour, anybody got info on this?

 

Welcome to the forum, not sure about that paint scheme being OEM, but looks really clean.
I'm sure one of the more knowledgeable members on the 1000 will be able to confirm.

Welcome. I do not believe that is an original scheme. If so, it’s a new one on me.
It is a clean looking bike though.

 

Didn't expect it would be original. The paint job is really good though and it looks better in the flesh, it's growing on me. Won't lose it in the car park that's for sure :-)

 

After more investigation the original colour was black. Gone from one extreme to the other.
