Default Hello to everyone from the UK,

Hi all, My Name is Richard and i hail from the UK. Royston, Herts. So Been a biker on and off most of my life, the last time was 20 years ago with a CBR1000f in Benetton colours (yeah... the pink one) truth is i'd had my heart on CBR100f ever since i saw a brochure when they came out. Unfortunately due to health issues i had to give up Biking. Well that was 20 years and things are no better in fact my health's worse, but if i dont get another CBR1000f before i peg it, i'll regret it for the rest of my life...
The major problem was changing gear, but i think i can solve that one now. Anyway i was looking for a CBR , a cheap CBR ...no chance. Untill up pops a CBR1000f with missing parts, missing fairings , Damaged fairings and lots more. The biggest plus was it was a pink one.One of the previous owners had personalised the fairings with some snazy paintwork, So do i fix everything up and carry one with his paintwork or just repopulate the bike with std panels. Thats still in the mix so we'll see, i suppose if i could get a hold of a panel set chaeply again then that would be the deal, but they are soooo expensive in the uk and galactically expensive from abroad (the panels are cheap but the postage is astronomical)

Another funny on This bike is 30 years old and has NEVER had an MOT

So just a brief intro to you all and if someone out is close, drop me a line.

Hope you all are well

Regards

Rich

ps some pics of the bike as i bought her

Hello and welcome to the forum. Does it run? if it does, then you're just looking at cosmetic bits and pretty much have all winter to get it sorted. If it doesn't, well you still have all winter... lol. Can you get her painted for less than the cost of a new set?

Welcome to the forum, a bit of work to do there!
If you can find them, you are probably better off getting 'new' replacement set of panels, unless you either know a good friendly (cheap) sprayer or can do it yourself.
It cost me nearly £300 just to get new decals (stripes) and have a lower R/H fairing painted

Hi, yes it did run when i got it but not now....i've removed the carbs to remove the airbox which is how i found out the fuel line route.. I bought it for a winter project, cant really buy a new fairing set they dont seem to exist, but i'm pretty handy with bodywork filling/spraying etc from my life with cars

Regards
Rich

Good luck with the project, unfortunately painting is not my thing.
