Default newb from Central Square, N.Y.

in the process of purchasing a new bike. 2005 black cbr1000rr. i know the owner and bike is in perfect condition, 10,000 miles. getting it for $5000 with a lot of accessories. this will be my play bike i also have a FJR i ride a lot. I'm also looking for another dual sport i had a WR426 that i had street legal here in N.Y. but due to cancer problems i can't kick start it so need to change to an electric start. before i get this thing i was just wondering if there were any problems that are common on this bike and if i should avoid it. the owner is **** and the bike was religiously maintained and has never been even bumped. he wont even pull a wheelie. first set of tires lasted 9000 miles.

Solid bike, the only thing is the seat gets a little hot do to the way the exhaust is, and sometimes smelly.

I say jump on it and enjoy!

i wont be riding it a lot. my dream is to take it on the track. havn't done that since early 80s. i know a 600 would be a better pick but i just love the big bike bark and brutality.

I hear you bro. Go get that thing! What other bikes are you looking at for dual sport? BMW GS1200A, KTM 990 adventure pop up in my mind.
