New rider from Illinois/STL area
Don't forget some good gloves too, a lil rash on the hands/knuckles is a beeeeeoch !! Had gloves on n still got some around the edges. Not tryin to preach to ya man, but is a pretty safe bet that if this is your first street bike, you'll spill it at least once. Wouldn't wish it on anyone, but it happens. Sweet bike too bub !! Had a red/blk 02.... real nice bike.

Did a lot of work on it cuz of wrecking it once pretty good, so if you have any questions feel free to pm. Good luck !!

nice i was almost gonna buy one just like that, but it had 30,xxx miles, i didnt want to get somethin that high.
I almost forgot about gloves. It scares me to hear all the warnigs of droping the first bike, but ill try to be VERY carefull, i dont plan on riding carzy like at all, i just wanna cruise it.

Thanks !! See, whats funny about that is when your just out for a lil "slow ride" is probable when it will happen !! I rode for years w/little more than a helmet for gear w/no problems at all..... was just cruising along on my way to work early in the am when i had a bad wreck. Nobody who knows bikes will fault you for layin your first bike down, its just part of the learning curve on sportbikes it seems, but havin the right gear will keep that story from being a bloody/went to the hospital/walk w/a limp story. Again, I don't mean to preach. One more little tid-bit is to hang w/some riders who arn't trying to push it all the time, esp at first, cuz trying to keep up/riding outside of your skill level is the fastest way to get hurt. Its about having fun tho, gotta keep that in mind or whats the point !?
i hear ya man, and preach on, im the type of person to listen and learn.
I plan on geting frame sliders? i guess thats what they are, (bars that stick out to prevent fairing damage) just in case... Know were i could get some with installation directions for my bike?

You can get em almost anywhere at a pretty good price, but the directions usually suck. Would call Brad @ Superbikesupply for good products, good advice, good prices. The site is ok, but he's real good about helping you find what your looking for easier than trying to hunt it down yourself. Will also give you better prices than are listed.
