Default New from Oregon

Hey there. My name's Mark. I've been riding bikes for a few years (mostly dirt), and been on the street for a couple now with my dad's old XL175. I just picked up an 1993 f2 from a guy locally with around 29,000 miles. I'm not new to mechanical works, I've recently built a 1970 914-6 conversion, and an '87 Samurai with Toyota powertrain and running gear, but I am new to the street bike scene. Everyone in my family has been riding since before I could walk so I thought that it's about time that I get out and ride too. My dad has ran HDs for most of my life, while my uncle has been running everything from a ZX11, to a ZZR1200, and now a Concourse 14. Being new to bikes I had a friend of my dad's check out the bike with me before getting it since he's a motorcycle mechanic. He was very impressed with the condition that it's in, especially for being nearly 20 years old. Anyhow, thanks for the great resource in this site and everyone's input. And finally, here's a picture of the bike as it was when I picked it up.

Welcome aboard Mark. I almost bought that exact same model years ago. That's a really nice looking bike.

Thanks everyone. As far as the weather goes...too wet!! We're still waiting for a decent spring to hit in, let alone a good summer. The weather report right now shows "mostly cloudy w/ a shower" for today. :-( Oh well. Do the best with what you have right?!
