Hello Everyone, I recently purchased a 1987 CBR1000F. It has been sitting most of its life as it only has 9300 miles on it. The plastics have been off the bike for years; I am in the process of getting fairing fasteners and fixing a few small details. The old owner put a new battery in it just before selling. He had it for 4 years and never rode it. Surprisingly the bike starts right up (even with old gas) and there are no fluid leaks.
I am not new to bikes and have had a few over the years (I am retired now) but mostly antique stuff (Harley/Indian). Hondas I have owned include 74 CB360, 89 Transalp, 89 Pacific Coast, 91 CBR 600, and quite a few XL600Rs (1983-1986)
I love the bodywork of the early CBRs. I like wrenching and staring at bikes as much as I do riding them so this bike is easy to enjoy. I look forward to learning from you all.
