Default New member saying hello

Hi all i'm a new member and also a new biker. Only got my wings last week and got myself a cbr 900rr. A bit crazy i know but it's a nice bike and i will take it very steady. Never realised just how reveered (is that spelt correct) they are until i came to insure it. With it being my first bike and no NCD i got a shock. Anyway i hope to eventually learn how to do my own basic maintanance and service so would appreciate all your patience and help. I'm 48 so don't intend ragging everywhere i go and just fancied the idea of a bike. Can i start with a couple of questions. Where will i get a rear seat cowel as i don't plan going pillion for a long time? And i only have one key, can i just get another cut as it has a datatool alarm fitted? Thanks and a merry christmas.

Welcome to CBRF!

Congrats on getting your 900RR. Have you taken the MSF course? Motorcycle Safety Foundation

Check in w/ the 900RR section for answers to your specific model type. As for keys, any quality locksmith *should* have Honda key blanks & cut spares for you.

Good to have you w/ us.

Welcome!
48 is too young for that bike, LOL. You will soon kick yourself for not starting earlier. You could have been enjoying riding years ago. The important thing is the you are riding now.

Be safe out there.
Let's see it....

Welcome to the CBR Forum Bob.

Great bike the 900rr - just take it easy with the right hand and enjoy the ride.

As for the seat cowl, keep an eye on Ebay or Craiglist or your local bike wreckers. It shouldn't take too long to locate one.

Merry Christmas to you too

Cheers, SB

welcome to cbrf and merry christmas to you too.

that's a lot of bike, just take it easy and you'll be fine. id suggest ebay for a cowl and as far as another key, im sure your local dealer has one. ebay might even have that as well

Thanks for your help. Hope to get out on my bike but Mr Frosty came down last night and left a very dangerous road. Typical 111
