Default New Member and First Bike - 04 CBR F4i

Hey, how's it going? I just purchased my first bike after taking and completing the MSF test last week. I bought an 04 CBR F4i Black / Red with 7900 miles on Craigslist for 4k cash. The previous owner had dropped it going ~15 and it really isn't noticeable unless inspecting it. They used electrical tape over the decals where it scratched.
I decided to go with a 600 instead of 250... I think that will payoff for me. I'm been real good controlling the throttle and clutch so far.... knock on wood!

It has the Honda CBR grips, Carbon fiber Pit-Eck slip on, Elimination kit for the front and back blinkers.

The front right blinker is electrical taped down as it must have fell / moved when the owner dropped it. Anyone know if this would be an easy fix or would the kit have to be purchased again? I'm not real familiar how they work or what they originally look like.

I'm going to bring the bike in tomorrow for a check up... I don't know much about the maintenance requirements yet. Still waiting for the user manual to download =)

One more quick question... one thing that has been a hard adjustment is not being able to see cars directly behind me. When using the side mirrors... my shoulders appear the corners. I need to lean over / adjust my body in order to view cars behind me. I know they're called 'side mirrors' but anyone have some advise or tips for this?

Hello & welcome aboard!
Good to hear you've completed MSF..congrats
You;ll find the F4i is a relatively easy bike to ride...but it can bite you back if your not ready for a SS600. Plenty of F4i riders in here so check out the F4i forum if you have any more questions.
Hard to tell what kind of blinkers you have on there but they look aftermarket.Get us a close up picture then we can help you out there more.
As far as the mirrors, they dont have the best rearview to begin with, so you just have to play around with them for awhile to get the best angle.

Hey there dr2i4ve, congratulations on your first bike, and for completing the MSF. That's a real good deal you got on the bike too, NICE.
That front flushmount (turn signal) could be either silicone glued back on, or you can just buy a new pair on e-Bay for $20.
You'll get used to the mirrors, like Hondajunkie said. Learn to start turning your upper body & head before changing lanes. You have blind spots on a bike, just like with a cage. Wear some gear and take it easy.
Welcome to CBRF
