New Member and a few ???'s
Hello all...I am a new member and I have just recently purchased my 2004 CBR 1000rr and love it so far...A little rough on the wrist at first but im sure I will get used to it after a few hundred miles. I have a few questions for anyone if they would like to help me out.
1. Suspension settings? Stock doesnt seem to bad and I have recently read some things from Sport Rider magazine but was wondering what suspension settings other users were using.
2. Power feelings? I had a 2001 R1 with 153hp at the wheel and my CBR seems to be lacking some of the power the R1 had. 2nd gear roll on the throttle with the R1 meant wheelie time....CBR I have to chop the throttle in 2nd....maybe needs some more breaking in...who knows...
3. Does anyone else feel the riding positions puts alot of weight, for me on my right, wrist?
4. Does anyone live out towards the Tacoma/Seattle Wa area?
Well it is good to see the site and hope to hear from some of you soon.

RE: New Member and a few ???'s
Welcome to the family. You ask some good questions. I ride a 929RR but do know feeling and settings and relativity of bikes.
1. Sport Rider does give good advice on settings but no one can tell you what settings feel best for them. It depends on how you ride...hard, soft, fast, slow, single or passenger. Find which setting works for you for the way you ride the most and you'll be fine.
2. The biggest problems with Yamaha (especially the R1) is the same reason you may feel there is a problem with power feelings between the R1 & the 1000RR. Yamaha's are too light...very powerful but more so light. Honda's are a little heavier so it may seem it takes more to get the front end up. Tweek the clutch as you break it in and you'll be doing wheelies sooner than you think.
3. Honda's throttle feel different than Yamaha's. As you break the bike in, your wrists will adjust and you'll be fine.
4. Sorry, North Carolina.
