My name is jake, im still in highschool i go to a technical highschool. Take a guess my major is motorcycles i have many certifications for working on them and i got my hands on a 1991 cbr 600 f2. it was in a wreck about 10 years ago and hasnt run since. Sorry dont have many pictures but anyways after a few months of work with frame bending and a full engine rebuild down to every nut and bolt i just fired it up 2 days ago. Made myself proud when it fired up no choke and within a rotation of the engine. runs great now and my next plan is to cut off the (bent) subframe and do an f4 tail swap. then i will slowly but surely create my first streetfighter i will keep some updates and i joined just incase i had any questions along the way

sadly the bike still is not in my name though my teachers friend owns it but im working my way into getting it to be mine

yeah i did a little engine work so far too i "race cut" the gears and ported and polished the head. now that its all running and i know all is well i think im gonna pull the head back off to flow the head. not positive on that though. and once its in my name and i can start putting money into it i have a nice list of upgrades i want to do engine wise.

Welcome.

You should be proud. Tearing into a motor like that and making it run again is an accomplishment that most people have never done. It's a great feeling!

Welcome to the CBR Forum,

What a great experience you've had Jake - well done. Hope you manage to get the title and get the bike together.

Cheers, SB

Well unfortunately i wont be getting that f2 the guy wants to keep it and sell it after he saw how good i had it running on the dyno. He wants to sell it for 1500 with the plastics demolished and the subframe still bent. An extra thousand and i could have a newer and in better condition bike. So i am now on the hunt for a nice 600 or larger cbr for $3000 or under preferably an f4 but im havin trouble finding them for that cheap

Either way though thanks for the warm welcome! And if someone could show me how to upload a video from my phone i can put up my dyno run! No numbers though computer needs to be recalibrated.
