Hello everybody my name is Dan I have a 2013 Honda CBR 1000 RR I just purchased it 3 months ago and it had 700 miles on it everything was going good but now it's starting to shift very hard into first gear I took it to the dealer it's not under warranty and they said that's normal just change the oil 500 miles ago adjusted the clutch did all the typical things and it appears to be getting worse and worse even the shifting throughout the gears are a little bit more clunky if anybody has any idea what it could possibly be or something I could look into I would greatly appreciate it I am getting nowhere here with my local guys thanks again.

 

What kind of oil and weight of oil are you using?

 

How many total miles on the bike?

 

I took it to the Honda dealership and the service tickets says 10- 40 drum oil whatever that is$6.29 it said Four quarts is there 4 quarts in a bike the bike had 1500 miles at time of service now 2400 I noticed it about a 2 weeks ago probably around 400 miles ago and started

Who adjusted the clutch? Did you tighten it or loosen it? Seems odd that a bike with that low if miles would need any adjustment at all.


Since the problem started soon after the oil change, I would change the oil again. This time use a synthetic motorcycle oil instead of the bulk crap they put in it. Go to Walmart and get a gallon of Rotella t6 synthetic (blue bottle) and give it a try. It's been known to make the shifting smoother and it's type MA approved for about 22 bucks a gallon.
