Hi everyone!

just bought my first 'big bike'

a 1993 honda CBR 600 f2
20,000 ish on the clocks. overall, very good bike and quicker than i expected!

Few bad things which i intend to sort and few upgrades i want as well.
Here are my plans so far and bits that ive already done.

Replace and respray entire fairings
Remove rear Footpegs
Respray downpipes in heat resistant black
Replace or respray swingarm
Replace standard hose's with braided hoses
Re-rivit exhaust
Replace yoke cover
Replace brake and clutch lever
Replace bar ends
Replace foot rests
Replace Exhaust hanger
Remove centre stand
Respray forks
Upgrade brakes

As you can see the previous owner has sprayed the fairings himself with a rattle can, but luckily, i have a close friend who owes me a favour who is a paint sprayer at Ford, so i'm getting all the paint work done there professionally, so it should look the nuts.
Few patches of rust and what not which will get full attention as required.

Going to have her all sprayed in gloss black and replace certain things (hoses, levers etc) in Red for some detailing.

Only cost me £500 (800 dollars)

What do you think??

Rich

Welcome to the CBR Forum Rich,

Some of the photos didn't post properly - not sure why.

It's a good price for the bike, and does look like you're setting it up to look the dogs bollox. Winter over your way, so keep at it and post pictures of your progress.

There are many knowledgable cbr600 owners on the forum, so feel free to post any questions you have.

Cheers, SB

hey, welcome to cbrf. looks like you want to get going on modifying your bike. there are a million things you can do.

when you say upgrade the brakes - what exactly do you want to do? you can replace the master cylinder from a newer bike - which will look better and perform much better especially paired with newer levers. its very easy to buy all of these things yourself through ebay and replace them yourself too if you have basic knowledge. ss lines would be a good upgrade too.

i hope you get your pictures to work! welcome again

Welcome Aboard!

Congrats on getting your F2!

Glad to know that you're going to give the bike the TLC it deserves. There are quite a few F2 owners here to help you out. You can ask questions in General Tech as well.

What's your riding experience?

Welcome to the forum mate! I love your bike; I've always had a thing for the black and pink 1993. There's a fair few of us Brits around here so check out the regional section. You never know who you might meet
