Just wanted to say hi and thank you all for a great site. I picked up my '05 CBR 600 RR last week and im already in love with it. This is my first bike so im taking it very easy and slow. I feel like I was born on this bike, but I havent gone over 65 with it. I am trying very hard to develop smart and safe riding habits from the beginning, so any tips you veterans can give me would be much appreciated.

Ill be taking the motorcycle safety course early October. I live in Laurel MD which is in the middle of Baltimore and washington. Hope to see some of you guys on the streets!

Welcome to the family shipmate. If you have your bike on station, I know you've taken a motorcycle safety course right..............good. I know those streets of which you ride. Be careful on them.

Well if you want to use your own bike there is a free safety course at Anacostia. Im not sure if I want to be weaving through cones with my new bike though. I would definately like to hook up and ride. Currently i have just been exploring all the roads around my house. For the most part its been slim pickings but I am getting some much needed practice.

Ive had the bike for 5 days and I already have 250miles on it, I dont know if thats a good thing or a bad thing but I am really enjoying myself. I keep making up excuses to run to the grocery store or the mall just to get out there and ride. Its good times. I get it now. My only regret is that I waited so long.

Congrats on the new bike & welcome to the boards. Make sure to wear your gear always, even on those quick little trips to the store. Definatly take a MSF class as soon as you can. Welcome to the addiction.
