Hey guys, I'm fairly new to the sport bike scene. I've always rode Harley's and decided to switch up. I got a 92 cbr f2 on the cheap. Got it running good but got a little oil in the coolant overflow jug. Could someone point me in the right direction for the correction? I am a very capable of performing any repairs. Thanks.
Welcome to the CBR Forum Jesse,
Hop into the F2 section and say Hi and the guys in there should be able to point you in the right direction. Oil in the water usually is a sign of a failing head gasket - fixable but look for why it failed.
Cheers, SB

Welcome to CBRF! Sorry to hear you're having some problems with your new-to-you bike. As others have said, it sounds like a head gasket. Is there excessive white smoke from the exhaust? As a head gasket is something every liquid cooled motorcycle has (every bike that has a sub-section on this forum), I'd look around at all the various sections. The F3 section will also be a good subsection to look at with how similar the engines/motorcycles are between them and the F2 (and we also have a huge following of F2/F3 enthusiasts)
Also, don't hesitate to post about it in the general tech section (as it's a very general problem, as opposed to other problems that are more model-specific).

Before tearing the motor down, be sure to look at the oil cooler seals. It's a common cause of coolant getting in the oil, and a lot easier to fix.

Well I believe I found it. I believe it was the water pump shaft seal on the drive side. We popped another in, flushed with cascade, and refilled with ant-freeze. So far so good. I appreciate everyone's help with the problem. I have been an automotive master tech for the last 15 yrs and this is a slightly different animal. The principals are the same though. The oil cooler would have been my next step. I am not doubting anyone about a head gasket. It has been my past experience that unless there is an oil passage between the block and the head, oil will not get in the coolant. Again, not saying it is impossible. The old cascade trick is what we use at the dealer. Thanks again for all your help!
