Whatsup everyone,

My name is David and I am from Bensalem PA. A week ago I bought a 91 cbr 600 f2 off craigslist.... MY FIRST MISTAKE. It isn't the cleanest cbr, and is currently sitting in the garage under repair. Although I drove it home, it quickly became clear that this was going to become a project. All i really have left is a good carb cleaning to hopefully fix an idle problem, and I need to coat the gas tank because it's starting to rust so I want to try to catch it while I still have time. The bike is yellow and black, has two different yellow colored wheels, blue forks, and fairings from a host of donor bikes. Hopefully everything works out but I just keep finding more problems the deeper I dig. This is my second bike, the first was a honda rebel 250. I am real happy to have a 600 that has some pick up, and hopefully it doesn't take too long to get used to it. As soon as I figure out how to post pictures I will post a couple. BTW can someone point me towards a thread that explains pictures or just tell me? Thanks!

New members are in moderation for a while so there are certain restrictions - however, using Photobucket or the like and linking images works best.

Welcome to CBRF, David! As far as your project is concerned, I find it's better to go completely through my bikes when I buy them. So long as you got a good deal, there's nothing wrong with what you're doing. When you get the bike sorted, you will definitely know every single thing is fixed, you'll know it's done right, and you'll have gotten to know your bike a little better.

Post pictures ASAP!

Hello and welcome! I think that once you get your bike sorted you will be very happy with it. You will have a certain closeness to it and you will feel more comfortable on it let alone doing the routine maintenance on it. The F2 is a strong and reliable bike so once its up and running it should stay that way!

best to go through the whole bike and check it over,as said once its done you will be pleased with it, get over to the f2 section to say hello and ask for any help you need.

Welcome to cbrf like mentioned above, pop into the f2 found for any questions you may have and to keep us up with your project. I too personally go through every used bike I buy. May take a bit longer to get riding but at least youll be safe and enjoy the ride more. Good luck.

Alright guys I made a photobucket account and I think I got the pictures down.

Here's some pics of my bike, the day I did the fork seals, and the way that I lift the front end to work on it. The front end is supported by straps on a metal pole that used to be used for a swing we had and now is home to some grape vines.

Welcome to CBRF... Truth be told... that is not a bad looking bike... and once you got it all sorted out then you will be more confident of the bikes ability to stay running...
