Hi Everyone,

Figured I would introduce myself here as well as try to direct some attention to my other post. (There's always an ulterior motive, lol) Been riding for about a year, started on an 06 636 (absolutely loved it, but wanted a little more). Got this project through a riding buddy thinking "how hard could it be" and it is really making me regret asking that question. It's an 05 rebuild I am currently working on, (the keen eyed among you might also notice the 900RR sitting in the back, a project for another day). I'll be back for some assistance on that I'm sure! Current issues are hard cold start and basically a 5K redline. Sounds like fuel cut but I can't rule out spark cut either. If you have any ideas or are curious about other questions contained in that post, please give it a look. I just posted that so I am sure it'll take a bit for mods to allow it through, but it should be available through my user page if it doesn't appear in the search when the time comes



. Looking forward to seeing what everyone has to say, and hopefully I can get to the point where I start modifying it a bit, but for now I just want to get it working.

 

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your rebuild, do you have a workshop manual? It will guide you through the trouble shooting process which will give you a head start at the very least.

 

Yeah, shop manual in hand. Unfortunately I think between that and existing forum searches, I've kinda reach the end of knowledge thats readily available. I'm hoping someone who checks out the full problem post will be able to point me in a couple more directions to sort it out. Just really hoping its nothing serious with the engine or anything like that. I'm itching to get this on the road but also want to do it as right as possible.
