Hey guys,

Just purchased a Blue 04 CBR600rr

I've always been riding four wheelers and dirtbikes. When me and my friends came of age, they all got bikes, and I thought, hey, why not me? So my first bike I purchased last season. Got it for $500 bucks, a good ol 87 CBR600 hurricane. Changed the oil, changed the plugs, and it ran excellent. After about a week of having it, I was on a ride with with a friend to go purchase his d675, and on the way back in my neighborhood, a deer came running out of someones walkway between hedges, and I hit him square in the side at about 35mph. He came out of no where, I didn't even have time to hit the brakes.

Either way, I went flying, but just ended up with a bit of rash on my arms and on my side, but it wasn't bad at all. I was sore for about a week, but I was fine.

Either way, I was pretty upset cause i JUST had my bike and only got to ride it for a week and figured it was done for.

When I got home, I asseded the damage though, and it seemed fixable. All I needed was the throttle and front brake assembly to make it rideable. Yeah, the fairings were destroyed, but i put the ones that could go back on safely back on, and road the bike for the rest of the season.

Needless to say, it was time for a new bike this year, which is what brought me to the bike I am picking up today that I am very excited for.

Just wanted to say hi and share my little story, hope to see you guys out there riding!

Heres some pics, sorry about the picture quality. I've been meaning to take out my big camera for pics, but i'm too busy riding it instead of taking pics of it.

Will have the other mirror soon. The guy i bought it from has it ordered, just waiting for it then he's either gonna ship it to me or i'm gonna come pick it up.

Thanks guys!

Yeah, hitting deer is no fun. Bastard came out of no where, right out of a yard inbetween two hedges on a walkway. When I got myself up, and was checking my self over, I started walking back to my bike, and the deer ran right by me, i didn't even notice it til after where I turned around and saw him running into the woods.

If i was a bit more in it, I would have grabbed him by the head and beat the crap out of him, haha.

As for the new bike, I plan on keeping it pretty much 100% stock at least for this season. It came with an integrated tail, flush front blinkers, and a GSR steering stabilizer. Only thing I plan on getting are frame sliders, but i really don't wanna drill through the nice blue fairings, and I know the wrap around ones don't really hold up to much.

I still can't get over how beautiful the bike is though, the blue is awesome and was a big selling point on the bike for me.

Welcome... very nice bike too bad about your first bike.... I appreciate you sharing your story..... Because of many people like u sharing their stories I have been scared straight into always wearing my gear. I live in So Cal and lately its been almost in the 90s and its gonna pass 100 in the summer, but i still throw on my leather jacket and leg armor. Have fun on big blue there.

I'm a heavy poster on VWVortex, so this forum should be a breeze compared to that one, haha. If anyone is on it, they'll know what I mean.

I've already taken full advantage of the search function here, but I havn't stumbled across a few of those links until now.
