What's up ladies and gentleman...Wanted to introduce myself. I am the proud new owner of a 09 CBR 1000rr. It's my first bike, I know it's a little big for a first timer.

Welcome to CBRF Michael!

Good lookin' bike. Yep, that's a LOT of bike for a new rider but as said, maturity will play a major role in your learning process. I can't stress this enough - RIDE YOUR OWN RIDE. Only ride within your own comfort level. Experience will come to you. Build on your abilities & above all - be safe.

Good to have you w/ us.

^^^ thank you sir. I didn't get the bike to go super fast, or do stunts, or anything of that sort. I did want to look cool (i'm not gonna lie), I also wanted to save some serious gas. My subaru Sti is a real hog...Thanks for the advice and keep it coming lol. I need all I can get.

Welcome.
Tons of bike, tons of fun. Respect it and keep the rubber down. Have you taken a class or anything to teach the basics of how to ride? You have a lot to learn yet so take your time. Stupid and immature decisions will get you hurt or killed. Don't let that choice of bike prove to be the first one. Be safe out there.

i'm starting my BRC today. I'm definitely not looking to hurt myself or anybody else during this learning process. I haven't ridden the bike out on the streets or anything just yet, just putting around the neighborhood trying to get the feel for her. I'm still nervous about getting into traffic.

Welcome from a former Waco inhabitant lol. I actually took some classes at CTC in Killen. I don't envy your summer rides. God it gets hot down there. I do envy that you can ride most of winter. I miss that. Up here in Mass I have to put it away for 5 months or so. Enjoy your bike man. 1000rr is great for down there with all the long straight roads
