New Guy
Hey guys and girls, My name is Wes and I just joined up here to find out as much as I can about these bikes before I buy. I've always been a Honda guy when it comes to powersports so I think I'm on the right track for a bike.
One question I've always had about motorcycles is this: Around what mileage should you start to wonder about major repairs/rebuilds coming up? Everyone knows that with cars its an average 100-150,000 miles when you start to look at the condition of the car and how it was used.
So what is it with bikes?

Welcome
Gee , that's a difficult question to answer because just like cars you get good bikes and bad bikes , depending on how well they have been maintained and used..
If you just remember one thing when looking around at them , it would be that just like cars , once they roll off the showroom new , they de value allot!!
CBR Honda's can roll into the hundred thousand miles range in some cases without too much trouble, but I personally think that after 30-50 thousand , you should expect to perhaps have to do some repairs, or replace some engine components ( electrical , cam chain and tensioner ect ) if you are unlucky..
If you have the cash , I would , if I were you, be looking at as new as possible , lets say around the 10-20 thousand miles and then you should be quite safe, because after 10-20 they have deprecated about as much as they ever will if kept in good shape...
Welcome to the CBRF Wes
