Talking New to the forum and CBR's altogether

Hey everyone, I'm a sophomore in college. I started
on an 08 Ninja 250 back in April of 2008 since I had
never really ridden motorcycles before.
Had lots of fun with that, took a couple spillsss...
first time, I was feeling bad *** one night and decided
to try a wheelie off a stop light but gave it way too much
power and 12 o'clocked it. Luckily, there was no one around
at 2AM to laugh at me. I rode away without a scratch,
but my bike got some damage
second time I was riding with a friend from my university
who has a Ducati 848. Sweeet bike btw. We rode up in
the foothills but we went into a private park type of thing
where there were no road signs (and I'm used to using speed
limit signs to figure out how fast I can take it on my bike...
so all was good, we turned around to go home but I went into
a turn what looked like way too fast for me, I panicked, hit the
brakes, locked my tiny rear tire, (drifted for a while according to
my friend behind me), went into the gravel outside the turn
and went down almost instantly(more like small rocks than gravel haha)
Well, I sure got the wind knocked out of me that time, but thanks
to some good jeans, astars jacket, and icon helmet, no harm done to me.

the bike was in better mechanical condition than the first drop, but
worse cosmetically.

I ended up selling the bike to move up to a 600 a while later (sounds foolish now right?)

But got an 04 Subaru STi instead (my dream car, got an incredible deal)

But when I got home my parents made me sell it,
And after waiting and waiting, I finally got another bike...

A White 07 600RR

Amazing bike and I love it to death.
I also currently have a 1990 V6 Toyota Pickup, which
I appropriately call my "clunker"

But the double R has become my main source of transportation
especially now as i have put the clunker out of commission for
some maintenance.

I don't see the point in wasting the gas anyway. I'm getting about 55 mpg
on my bike, and I'm more than happy with that considering I was only getting about 5 more on the 250!

Anyways. I'm done with my rambling now.

See you on the road!

Hey there. Welcome aboard! Watch the wheelies with the 600. Crack the throttle like you did on the 250 and you'll be lucky if it doesn't wind itself all the way back to 9 o'clock

Got any pics so we can see what she looks like? I considered white myself (very rarely seen color on bikes). But said no cause of the dirt & grime the yellow on my bike attracts. White would be a whole nother nightmare

Welcome to CBRF, tervanun.

Like Kuroshio said, be careful with the throttle on that RR, it's much less forgiving.
You know, I've actually considered getting an old ninja 250 just to loop it like you did...
(well, I guess not to intentionally crash it, but you know what I mean )

Anyway, congrats on a sweet bike.... and ride safe!

Haha no more wheelies for me! At least not for a while. And I've watched all kinds of tutorials and instructional vids on it unlike last time trying it cluelessly.

I haven't really gotten the chance to do a full photoshoot yet
but I'll get to it soon haha

The day I bought it....

oh and here's one of my the 250 I had...just for kicks

Yeah I've "calmed" my riding down alot since I got this bike.
It was a hard to get used to the throttle for about a week hehe
but I'm surprised that its more forgiving when it comes to handling.
I feel much safer riding the RR than the Ninja.
I'd guess cuz of the steering dampener along with being more balanced
with a lower center of gravity.
haha but yeah, the 250 just seems like a beater bike now
(not intentionally of course )

Thanks! And I love it so far, already put almost 1,500 miles in the 2 months I've had her.
Lol "keep the rubber side down".... I like that.

My dad always used to tell me "Keep it sunny side up" when I'd go on long trips.
