Default new to forum and the bike world

So I've always wanted a streetbike since I was old enough to drive but never had the cash to get one, but this past week everything changed. I found a project bike for a learner and plan on starting a build log when I get it back running. It's an 98 F3, unknown mileage, in rough shape with a surprisingly clean and undented tank. My first "mod" will be the soda can over shock canister. My plans for the bike since it is naked and a winter project is to make a it "streetfighter-ish." Here's some pics and comment like crazy.

Welcome to the forum.

You got your work cut out for ya! That's quite a big project to start on but if you succeed, you will know the bike inside and out. Good luck with it...

Hell yeah, it's about time for another fighter-er around here! Throw up a build thread in the streetfighter section and DO WORK!

Welcome to CBRF!

Welcome to the CBR Forum,

Big job but stick at it and you'll have a bike you are proud of. And we can offer help where needed.

Cheers, SB

Thanks for the warm welcome all! I love this kind of stuff just normally I'm doing it on a four-wheeled vehicle. I think I'm gonna make a stand to secure the bike in when I start tearing into it. Not sure what the first step is gonna be yet other than getting it to start running. It spins over fine but doesn't seem to be getting spark. Thinking CDI but maybe voltage regulator. Again thanks for all the encouragement.

The CDI's are rarely the problem, make sure to check the coils first! And if you're not getting spark on any of the cylinders, I'd check the wiring too. I look forward to see your build thread!
