Greetings everyone!
I've been riding an '01 F4i for the last year or so. About a month and a half ago I had a guy "fail to yield" and turn left in front of me in an '84 El Camino. He had no license and no insurance. I came away mostly unscathed, with just some cuts and deep bruising on my left leg. I had uninsured coverage for me and the bike, so it didn't cost me a penny. Anyway, the bike was totalled, although the damage was all cosmetic. I opted to keep the bike and repair it, which brought me here. Thanks for the info re: OEM bodywork from ronayers.com and alarms from internatrix.com. I look forward to being an active member! I have some DIY modifications I'll post soon-- custom rear seat for my girlfriend's sense of security, helmet mounted mp3 player and more.
Within another week or two I hope to have the bike back on the road. See you out there!

I included a couple of pictures (ones I had to send to my insurance) More are available, if anyone's interested in seeing more. I'll post the final pictures when it's back in one piece.
I do freelance graphic design on the side--couldn't help making this animation...CBR Crash Animation
I speak lightheartedly about it, but I know it could have been much, much worse.
Thanks!

RE: New to CBRForum.com
Thanks--I'm considering making a few cosmetic changes this time around to reflect the bike's life after death. Glad you like the animation too. My girlfriend had mixed emotions about watching a cartoon version of her boyfriend getting hit by a car. I explained that it was therapeutic for me. Making it helped me work out the details based on photos and witness accounts. She went for that--sort of...
