Default New to CBR & Forum from WA

Im 31 and new to the motorcycle world. I just picked up my first bike (04 CBR 600RR) here in WA. I have taken it out in the driveway a few times but other than that the weather has her stuck in the garage.

hey there and welcome to CBRF!! :-)

That is a fine looking 600RR you have there and you can simply use the down time to thoroughly check her over and get her all polished up for spring

Take care :-)

Default Thanks for the welcome

I will have her looking better than new by April and ready to ride.

But I already seem to have an issue. I started the bike today outside temp 35F. Within 3min idle the bikes temp was upwards of 242F and climbing.
Looks like I will be checking all fluids tomarrow and keeping my fingers crossed that the coolant is low or something simple. I also did not hear the fan come on at all. The guy I got the bike from rode it about 30mls on the highway to deliver it to me just last Thursday and the temp was fine.
Ill be sure to post my findings and welcome any and all ideas for trouble shooting.

The manual says it should kick in at 220F. Im quoting this from memory but I will be sure to read up more on this in the next few days. Wow would I be happy if its just a blown fuse!!!
