New 2006 F4i Owner First Bike
Hey All,
Just wanted to stop in and say hi. Recently picked up a used 2006 CBR 600 F4i with under 4k on it as my first bike. I love it and I look forward to learning some valuable things on this forum. I'll be moving to Texas at the end of August and I'm looking forward to the year long riding season!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'll be sure to get pics up soon. However, the bike was hit and knocked over in the parking lot the first day I got it while I was in getting it registered at the DMV . Worst sight to walk out and see your new bike laying on the ground...but the lady found me and her insurance is paying. Luckily the guy I bought it from owns a shop and he's fixing it back up it to its former glory. Still ridable now, just not quite as sleek looking...It should go into the shop in the next few weeks

At least she found you. Usually they just take off. The drivers around the DMV are scarey...
Now you've learned your first lesson about parking a bike. Don't put it in a place where cars or people can hit it. If you must use a parking space, make it a front one so it can be seen by you or passers by just in case something happens you have witnesses. When using a space, use the back of the space so a car will see it before they turn into the spot. If the spot looks open, they will dive into it with their attention turned to the car next to the spot that the are trying not to hit. They won't see there is a bike there until it's too late.

Thanks for the advice 74demon! I was wondering the best way to park (too far in and the can't see you, too far out and they have no time to react if the didn't see the bike) and have been paranoid ever since leaving my bike unattended. I'm just glad I could learn my first lesson without me being on the bike! Plastics are easy to fix...bones not so much

welcome to CBRF! having a lady stay and own up to knocking it over is a huge relief. usually, they just take off and you have a few new notes of "character" added to your bike. i'm glad it s working out for you. enjoy the bike, good luck and texas, and we look forward to seeing you on the forum
