Default New 2006 CBR600RR owner in Adelaide, South Australia

G'day from down under!

I've just purchased a 2006 CBR600RR race bike that I intended to use in the South Australian state road racing competition. Hopefully I won't come dead last but I'll be happy just not crashing

First thing I need to do is get it sprung for my weight. I've looked at the Race Tech website to get basic front and rear spring rates so next step is finding the springs somewhere in Adelaide.

I've had VFR750/800s for about 15 years and a 2002 GSX-R750 track bike so I'm looking forward to something a bit lighter.

Have you ridden 'The Bend' yet?

Hey SB,

Yeah I know of Hoey but I'm trying to source stuff cheaper and turn the wrenches myself. There is a local spring (Southern Springs in Edwardstown) maker who I'd like to try as the turn around there can be much quicker, just don't know about the spring metal properties.

I've done 2 race meets and 4 track days at the bend, best on the GSX-R750 was a 2:24s so not really quick yet but I think I'm past the beginner stage. Great track! I've also been to Mallala and Mac Park, both of which should be better on the smaller/lighter bike.

Do you go to the track here in SA?

Cheers,

Stu.

Hey Stu,

I haven't ridden in anger on a track (Mallala) since late last century. And haven't ridden The Bend yet. Will probably do a Grandpa day when they have one - for those of us who just want to have fun as safely as we can!

Below is my pace these days.............

Cheers, SB
