Default My first bike

Hello everyone. I just got my first bike on Friday and chose the 2003 600 RR. The guy kept it in immaculate condition and I got a pretty good deal on it. Being my first bike, I decided to make sure I had enough safety gear so I dropped like a grand on helmet, jecket, gloves, etc.

After riding about 200 miles this weekend I've learned that going 65mph is a whole lot faster on a bike than in my Bimmer. I think I hit about 80 and just decided that was a bit too fast for my abilities. Anyway, I hope to be able to enjoy this for the rest of the season without droppin' it!

BTW, I was told magnetic tank bags really aren't that good for this bike. Any input on this? Where can I get a good one? I'm lookin' for somthing I can kinda lay on a bit more. I've got alot of upper body mass and my hands are takin' a beat down on the bike!

I believe you have a plastic tank, so magnets aren't gonna work.

Your wrists and hands should adapt in a month or so, but some people never get used to it. Be happy your neck and back don't hurt too. Maybe you should get a throttle lock to give your right hand a rest now and again. I used a vista-cruise, but it had to be modified and cleverly installed.

It is funny, you just named the two reasons why I got the F4I instead of the faster, better looking RR.

Be careful and enjoy your bike.

welcome and congrats on the bike! these rockets are deceptively fast. you can be hitting triple digits before you know it and yes the RR's have the plastic tank cover so those magnetic tank bags aren't going to work.

Well, I can't get a camera right now but I will soon and then I'll post pics. Oh yeah, already dropped it! [:@] I was pullin in the driveway and cut the corner WAY too sharp at about 7 mph and then DOWN GOES FRASIER! Son of a b#@ch fell right on my ankle! I'm good, no damage to me or the bike. Unless, of course, you count my hurt pride!

First congrats and then nevermind bro.
I bought a CBR 600 F as my first bike and everyone around me told me that it's too risky to own such bike for the first experience.Hopefully I have not lived a bad experience but it's possible. No matter how careful you are, these bikes do not forgive your mistakes and when you add to that the exterior facts, this incidents are not rare. The important thing is you are still ok and then your bike You got a nice bike, ride with joy...
