So you feel like you lost a whole 6 or 7 days of experience, and you were leaning good on *all that experience*?

You really need to step back and rethink this. Take it slow and learn to ride. It takes years to get good, not days.
x is right... you were riding for 6 to 7 days... you learned very little if nothing at all other than fallin is easy.

Take your time... if you need to take some time off to get your head back to where it was the day you bought the bike then do so. Never give up, never quit. I've crashed, wrecked, dropped it, seen people get hit by cars... and every time I get on that bike I have a smile on my face. You have to be patient and willing to learn from your mistakes. We all made em at one point or another. Be prepared to invest years into this if you really want to make the lifestyle your own.

We've all been there, brother. You have a whole lifetime to get better and gain confidence. Take it easy, like everyone is saying, and give yourself a long learning curve. You'll find that each trip back to the garage means you have gotten just a little bit better. Did you take the MSF? Also, there are a ton of great reading materials that you should check into (Proficient Motorcycling by David L Hough to name one). Good luck.

All the times I'v droped my bike I'v been going 0 or 1 MPH. I droped my bike when I wasn't even on it. And you WILL drop it again. So take off the fairings and install some frame sliders. I already replaced my bar levers, sliders, and mirrors from droping my bike.

Hey don't worry about loosing your confidence I did the first day I bought my cbr and let the clutch out too fast and pulled a wheelie it scared the heck out of me. I'm a very small female I only weigh 105 pounds but I got my confidence back. If I can do it so can you. Lots of luck and keep your head up but learn from your mistakes.

I had the same thing happen last week, broke off a peg, front brake lever, bent back my rear brake lever, not to mention the cosmetic damage. I got back on my iron horse, but my shoulder is still sore. Yay riding gear.

Like everyone says, make sure you get back on and take it slow. I had less than 100 miles on my first bike when I was t-boned in an intersection by a drunk driver. Walked away without a scratch. Once I got another bike I was a little gun shy of intersections but the feeling goes away. Good luck man.

Dropped mine in a McDonald's parking lot 3 weeks ago. Cold tires and oil in the parking lot were amongst the factors. The worse part about it (besides my wrist being screwed up) was the lady sitting at the drive through going...."are you alright, are you alright, are you alright, are you alright..." over and over and over. I was already embarassed, she just made it worse. I just picked the bike up and rode off. My watch left a mark on one arm and the other one must have hit the ground funny...should go to the Dr but I fear that more than the bike. I only put 86 miles on this bike and it is my first one. I've only riden twice since, but more due to time constrants than anything else.

"Everyone falls. Some get back on, some don't, some can't"

"You start the game with a full pot o’ luck and an empty pot o’ experience... The object is to fill the pot of experience before you empty the pot of luck."

More quotes: http://www.aoe.vt.edu/~cdhall/Space/archives/000891.html

The only way to get the confidence back, is to get back up when you fall, dust yourself on and get back on.
