Default looking for input on F4I as first 600 bike

hello all, I have been riding an 08 ninja 250r for a year and am ready to step up to a 600. I have been looking at the new gsxr and r6 but they are more than I want to spend. I also don't think i need the extreme sport tuning those bikes offer. I am looking to have some fast fun and willing to do performance mods down the road. I am looking for something comfortable to ride on for a couple hours as well as with a passanger. I found an 02 F4I that looks to be a good deal...just looking for some input on this bake. I heard there is no posative neutral finder? Do they have any issues I should be looking for before I purchase one? It seems their owners are very loyal. any imput helps. thanks in advance, Brad

F4i's are just good all around first bikes, They aren't too overwhelming at first but with a little experience you'd be surprised what you can wring out of the little bastards!!

and they are built like tanks so the only issues you should watch out for are the obvious abuse issues...ie does the motor smoke like a chimney, has it been down or generally beat on...

Also ask if the "cam chain tensioner" has been replaced, this is the only recurring design flaw with F4i's. It's not a huge deal if it hasn't as the fix is typically under a hundred bucks to take care of it.

Happy hunting and let us know when you get one!!!

Welcome to the forums Brad!!

The F4i will be an almost perfect transition form the Ninja 250, you have gone the ideal route by getting the experience on a sporty but less powerful bike ... the 600 has lots more power but low down in the rev range they are ***** cats and won't bite you ...

Hope you find a nice one and enjoy the forums!! :-)

Jules
