Default Looking for a bike!

Hello all i am new here and new to motorcycling getting my license here in a month or so... I am a big guy at 6'4" 285...

I was looking at a Honda CBR600 F4i for my first bike...Is this a good starter bike for someone my size? How is the get up and go? steering, ect..I want it to be comfortable.

Also does anyone know where I can get a good deal on a used one?

whats the diff between a CBR600R and a CBR600 F4i?

Thanks!

Hello & Welcome!!

Being comfortable is the most important thing. I started on a 250, then after a year moved up to an F4i. I'm 5'2.5" and weight about 130lbs. This is a big bike for me, but I've gotten used to it and handle it fine. I am no longer using larger boots to lift myself up and I'm comfortable. I rode my man's RR, but it just doesn't fit me. The positioning, etc. Just sit on a couple of bikes and determine it from there. Good Luck in your search!

I just bought a 600 F4, and I am 6'1", 230lbs, so I am on the bigger side too. And the 600 has more than enough get up and go for me. I actually think the 1000 would be way too much for me right now. Just ride it, and enjoy it. I am having the time of my life.

The RR's seat might be a little too uncomfortable to support your wieght and height. There are alot of stabs at the bannana seat but, by far IMO the F4 is much more comfortable. Good luck, and remember start off slow, and learn the mutual respect aspect of the bike and you.

i bought my bike off of ebay. you can find good deals on there sometimes. i bought my 94 600 F2 for 1100. plastic is beat up and needed new gauges. but after a carb cleaning it runs great. you can also search by bikes that are close to your area if you dont want to pay for shipping one (can get expensive). GL!
