Talking Kind regards from a new member

Hi fellow CBR riders!

I am honored to join such a nice forum.

The day before yester i bought my yellow CBR929RR, and yesterday I sold my first bike, a Yamaha FZS 600.

Never have I felt that the Yamaha wasn't a good bike. I learned how to ride on it and it never left me standing in the cold. I would take that FZS600 everywere come rain or shine. But since a couple of months I started to drive a car to work again in stead of the FZS600. And I thought to myself it was time for a new bike.

Ofcourse the Honda caught my eye. What a beauty! And what a beast!

Unfortunetaly, the day after i bought the CBR the red light went on (does not blink) together with the FI token.

Ofcourse the previous owner had never seen it... oh well..

I hope to find some information on how to fix this on your beautifull community, and furthermore, I hope to help you all werever I can aswell.

Forums are new to my so i do not really understand were i can ask for help or reply to give help. I am just running around your forum like a chicken with the head cut off

Yamaha FZS 600 and Honda CBR 929 RR both 2001
.

I am looking forward speaking to you all!

I have added a photo of my old and new bike

Have a nice day guys!

Kind regards,

Leeroy

Hi Leroy and welcome to the forum. Any other things that you notice other than the FI light coming on and not blinking? Do you hear the fuel pump prime? Do you hear any relays clicking? What other lights are lit up? Is the Engine Stop switch in the Run position on the right handlebar? If you toggle the Engine Stop switch on and off a few times, do you hear relays clicking? Any other observations?

This may also help, link to manual.

Hi IDoDirt,

That is a great question!

I will gather information the next time ill ride it.

According to the workshop manual, I've been reading, a not blinking light could be a short circuit in service check connector or a faulty ECM (whatever those may be).

Also, It may be my fault because i did not have the side stand down while cheking. The manual states the light only blinks when this is done..

I really appreciate your help very much. I will check the things i mentioned above and also I will gather the info you asked me about.

Meanwhile I have been driving the CBR, and it functions perfectly, man what a machine!

Hope you have a great evening..

Cheers,

Leeroy

Hi everybody,

I found out I wasn't checking my error light correctly.

I had to put down my side stand in order for it to blink.

And ofcourse it instantly showed error 35!

Servo broken is probably broken.

So I got a Servo buddy.

It can arrive at any moment.

When it does i will instal it and make a tutorial on it. Also I will instal a USB charger at the same time.

Just two questions:

1. What is the best way to fixate the servo in a certain position?

2. And what is the best position to fix it in?

I hear the full open position results in bad idle and loss of power in the low end.

Many thanks in advance!

Leeroy

What about this? Have you tested yours to see if its actually bad?

Hi IDoDirt,

Yes I have.

Unfortunately, is doesn't work anymore.

If i have to bet on it, I would say the internal gears are done for.

About that second hand servo: I appreciate the idea. It looks fine but I dont know anything about that servo.

It could be allmost brand new, but on the other hand, it could've had more action than a hooker on nickelnight.

Who knows? Do you think it is safe to buy a secondhand Servo? Since they tend to break..

Many thanks for the reply and suggestion though!

I started a new thread about it.

Cheers,

Leeroy
