Default New bike and rider

I just picked up my first bike, a 1997 CBR 600 F3. It's in pretty rough shape so I'm going to be stripping it down and reworking it. I haven't worked on motorcycles or ridden in close to 30 years but I did a lot of both in my youth(I still ride bicycles and dirt bikes though) so I'm basically a first timer. The basic mechanics are no problem but I know that there are some things that are specific to bikes that I may not know so I will have questions. Thanks in advance!

Welcome. Hey, we're all in pretty rough shape so the bike should be in good company. We have a lot of good people on here with a head full of knowledge who also love to help. So jump in with any questions you may have. Post up as many pics as possible as we really like them.

Bit of an update in video form. I still have a long way to go but there's real progress!

Quick question, has anybody had a problem with the trip odometer freaking out when the revs go up? It jumps all over the place every time I go over about 3k RPM. I'm not sure where to start looking to troubleshoot this one. This is the last mechanical/electrical issue except for a carb sync and the lever/button for the trip reset, I have everything else working good.

Maybe show the jumping around in your vid.
